Who said that they should be very secured? Not like your doing any harm to anyone but yourself and your own experience. Also, flares are BETTER when they damage shields. They're difficult to time such that they are useful otherwise, but when an enemy has 36 layers of shielding such a weapon is mandatory to progress.
hey jwiggs can you help me get the full files cause im on a LENOVO ideapad but they wont open cause when i try opening the game it opens my files thing and asks me which file i wanna open so i choose IIslands of war but it just closes itself and wont do anymore
When you download the file it should come zipped. After you unzip it you should see the IIslands of war file. Double click it and extract it to the destination of your choice. Then, go to the extracted folder and open the game.
I think the problem is you might be choosing the same location as the file to extract the file to.
I've played 11 hours in this game and I've noticed a common thread. The most efficent way to build an island is to build in rows. So, all my island looks like a massive rectangle throughout the wholr run, instead of an island. I think that you should add a feature that if the rows of an island get smaller and smaller, an island would give extra thrust, dodge chance, etc. Also, if two rows are the same width, some penalties should be added.

When you run out of lives, then proceed to close the game, before the Game Over screen pops up, Then start it again, you will be able to still continue and re-play the part you died, though the enemy gets randomized again (exception if the final boss), So basically unlimited Continues

I found a bug that gives you some tech that when you die disappear and now I find myself in Realm 8 with only 30 weapons instead of the 43 I had before
there’s this really useless bug where if you use the arrow keys to place your island In the top left corner and go into battle, you instantly die. No explosions, just fall apart.
umm hello dev the other day i closed the game and well my save is gone now there no continuation buton what hapened i was so close to win an wined a mithic weapon in 2realm
I like how the 1.16 update was so epic it went straight to 1.17 xD My findings so far; A setting for map scroll direction would be awesome, the rail gun doesn't do damage every time you hit the enemy, and I hope the weapon cap per button isnt because you wanted to limit it :P but because of the game maker constraints. Loving this game more and more!
Actually, 1.16 was out for 22 minutes. It was quickly taken down because of a major bug where pressing continue actually created a new game. Thus, i did a quick fix with a couple other glaring bugs and called it 1.17.
The weapon cap per button is not really gm constraints, but it does need a limit. I though 8 would be enough, but turns out, we need more. Anyways, I chose 8 because then you wouldn't have these massive large groups the would take up the entire screen. I think I may increase this to 10, but we do have a fire all button(~).

I was able to defeat the boss once again in the latest version. The game is more balanced now. The sudden difficulty spike is no longer there. The final boss speaks for itself now as the hardest enemy compared to any random encounter which is excellent. It's harder than its 1.1.5 counterpart now which is excellent (that's what I think). And trees are back!
After I defeat the final boss, I lost 7 basic firepower unit for some reason when I try to edit my island. Not that it matters anyway tho. Good job!
Actually, the tech for some of them have a cap. For example, you aren't actually supposed to get more than 5 basic firepower units. Apparently somehow, the game is bypassing the rule that I have put in that specifically says to not give you that tech if you have the max.
What you are seeing is the tech getting clamped back down to the max every time your island is loaded/saved. The next update is going to be a tech update, where I am totally reworking the way they work(even though they just got here). That should fix these problems since there will no longer be a cap.

Ohh I see. My second playthrough currently do follow the cap somehow or could be a coincidence. I had only 5 basic firepower techs in the 7th realm and it got me thinking how unlucky I am.
I found a bug; if you click the executable file twice before the first window pops up, it runs the game on two windows without terminating one of the windows.
Not surprised. This can happen with almost any executable. The short answer is don't do it. The long answer is upgrade your computer, and stop trying to do it.

That is such a great idea! I have noticed that as well, and have been trying to figure out how to make player islands look more island-like.

and my game when i came back all my weapon enhancers were gone but im restarting anyways cuz of finishing that final boss please make it harder

yes it updated about some minuts ago and now i enter and there no continuation button
the dev needed to do that because there was an error
im sad i wanted to much that save a freaking turbolacer doing 8 damage and 16 on crit it was a very good run

Nothing the devs can do to fix that.
There is a typo or a bug with the small firepower unit; it says that it provides 2 additional weapon slots but it only provides 1 additional slot.
The small firepower unit does indeed provide 2 additional weapon slots, but most weapons will take up 2 slots anyways(check their size).
