Sorry to bother but would you have an answer to why my mac tells me "The following disk images couldn't be opened" "Reason, no mountable file systems."

Ive ran the command in terminal before and after download, I've verified the disk image in disk utility, I've restarted my mac on several occasions but it still gives me this message

Some people have gotten this error from having an older mac, or having older software. I can confirm that it works on High Sierra and probably Sierra, but anything under that I'm not sure. Which osX are you running?

Sorry bout that. The timeout feature i implemented didnt work as planned. The next update coming out in a few days should fix this. For 1.15, you will need a decent connection though.

Hey, do you mind making save slots in the game? I have had a few issues with getting far in the game, taking a break, and when opening to the title screen I click new game naturally. Even after immediately closing out I have to start over. Thank you

is there a way to know the recipes of the forge or i need to keep trying

The forge has a recipe book that is procedurally generated. This means that throughout all your different runs, if you put in the same three items(order doesn't matter), you will get the same output.

With the forge, it pays off to play around with it. Substitute in some blocks to try and get a better one. If you like a recipe, write it down somewhere.

Is it any surprise that I find the common enemies of the last 2 worlds harder than the final boss at times?

Yup it is! I found it suprising myself. Balancing will be done in the future. The dev seems to prioritize fixing bugs that are ruining gameplay.

Right now the closest workaround seems to be closing the game and restarting to reroll the enemy. Mortars are impossibly irritating ;-;

Agree. I was lucky enough to not face them that often. I loss twice (both to grenadier user) and still manage to win the game. Still manage to win against some of them tho

I tried to play this game on Mac and I did the Terminal thing but every time I open it, it says 'Game not found!' Please tell me how to fix that.

Hey man! I'm pretty sure you have to run the command before downloading. So try ejecting the dmg and re downloading the game. Also, I have had people who have had problems on older software versions(anything before sierra).

Hello Dev,

It seems that advanced floatron are not working on crystal blocks, could you fix it ? (i've tried reloading the game, put it again ect but still doesnt work on crystal blocks)

Hey dev,

The game is more balanced in 1.1.5. I was able to defeat the final boss without encountering any bug, at least in my playthrough. It took me awhile tho. Based on my playthrough, a few things can be improved.

1. The final boss (the skull with obsidian blocks and unknown cyan blocks) seems easier compared to any enemy in the last zone since there is actually a reliable strategies that can be used to defeat it. The random enemies in the last zone can be  more difficult if luck is not on your side. More on no.2 on how I defeated the final boss.

2. IMO, the lobbed type weapons (mortar, dual mortar and grenadier) are very OP. More OP than the plasma weapons as they don't requires aiming as much. You can even leave it on auto-fire  and combined with flares, they can destroyed buildings easily. I was able to face such random enemies with 5-6 grenadiers and I don't even stand a chance.  This is how I cheesed the final boss btw. Slowly chipping away its shield with a single grenadier and 2 regular mortars. I think you can increase their weapon size so they would be more balanced? Up to you tho.

3.  I think enemies with only flares and powerless weapons should be considered a win for the player since they can no longer fight back. What I meant by powerless weapons are weapons that required energy to use but the island is no longer capable of storing and generating energy, thus the weapons are not usable. I was able to do so on few occasions during my playthru where the enemy cannot fight back. 

Glad that I was able to play IIsland of War. It was an awesome 3 hours gameplay and I'm looking forward for the next updates. Take ur time on developing the game and fixing those bugs. Thanks man!

Nice job getting to the end man!

1. The boss has a glaring weakness unfortunately and it does seem fairly easy in comparison to the other enemies. I will be trying to balance out the game more in the future updates to improve this.

2. Mortars are pretty op. Increasing the weapon size(like the plasmas) would probably help protect against this type of spam.

3. I actually didn't realise that some enemies didn't generate enough energy to fire. It hasn't been directly brought up but I have heard reports of enemies just not shooting. This is what must cause that too happen. Nice observation there. Enemies shouldn't only be equipped with flares. I'm pretty sure I double check the enemies' firepower to make sure they can actually deal damage(provided the have enough energy). I will look into the energy placing system.

I'm glad I was able to nail most of the bugs. Feels great to know that my errors aren't having a impact on the gameplay as much. I am very glad you enjoyed playing it. Stay tuned for more. Next update will take a little longer, but I'm trying to get a little more in there.

Btw regarding on no.3 I fought a random enemy with 2 flares and exposed cannon. I just destroy the cannon and the enemy just float in mid air, firing flares without hurting me. That's how the situation happened. I fought it quite early as well, in the first zone where shield are not that common, yet.

To be honest, I just got lucky. It was my first playthru in 1.1.5 as well. I just avoid random encounters in the last zone cuz it was so hard.

Oh, the reason that the enemies are so not worth it to fight in the last zone is that their drops are kinda ordinary?  Shops don't really sell the good stuffs as well in the last zone. Maybe I'm just unlucky? So I'm curious how rare are legendary and mythic grade item anyway.

Another few questions.

1. How do you exactly scroll up and down in the main map? I don't use a mouse btw.

2. Is the random enemies generation depends on how strong the player's island is? Or is it based on the zone/height the player is currently in?

3. Are TREES from Island of War (the prequel) coming back?

I guess that's all for now. You don't have to answer all of them if you want to keep them a secret (just help me  out on no.1). Looking forward for the weapon grouping update. That will surely make gameplay of this game even better. Good job dev!

If you don't have a mouse, it doesn't look like you can scroll up or down. You could use the mouse wheel or right click to drag but those are both on the mouse. I will make the arrow keys do the same thing for your convenience.

Unlike the first game, enemies are based on how hight you are. Super enemies and bosses should be even harder. The altitude doesn't really do anything and its just for show but the values the altitude is calculated off of are the same ones that determine how hard enemies are.

I can't believe someone actually played the prequel! Trees may be coming back sometime, i have all the sprites ready just haven't had the time to implement them. Glad someone still remembers them.

I'm using a mouse pad actually so I can still scroll the map. I was trying to figure it out but can't.  I did play the prequel a bit tho but yeah this game is definitely better in terms of the mechanics.

I'm sorry. I should have replaced this item with a trophy saying that you are the luckiest person in the world. I needed a filler for mythic tech and so I took a concept that will be in the game (the scanner) and filled it in.

Congrats on getting the rarest tech in the game at the second level. There is a 1% chance of getting mythic tech in the second world. And a 0% chance in the first world. So getting a 1% chance is insane. Man, i wish my runs were this lucky sometimes.

Anyways, sorry bout that.

Do not worry, I also considered this item as a trophy. I was only facing the situation for 10 sec until I realized what was happening.
I like the game too much to be upset about it.

I only have one question, what will the scanner do? there will be some kind of bullet that will only be seen if we have the active scanner?

I leave with only one suggestion. Blocks and weapons could have variants within the model itself (because there are no two equal things in the world).

I was hoping the 1.15 update would fix the weapon remapping... if we could put multiple types of weapons on the same button, the game would get a million times better! Please ^-^

The 1.15 update did fix a major crash to do with weapon remapping that caused remapped weapons to not show up in battle. That was bad.

Anyways. I just wanted to let you know that being able to map different weapons is going to be coming out in the 1.16 update. Its gonna take a little time to do this though, since i need to completely uproot the old system and put in a new and better one that can handle this type of stuff. I'm doing it right this time, so not only will you be able to fire with 1-9, but the entire keyboard as well(just the letters). You can choose to use the entire keyboard(1 for each weapon, someone pls try that), but i don't think you will need it. I just did it because I could and it wouldn't take any more extra time.

I guess you have something to look forward to. Btw, the way I do these major content updates is primarily by demand. Saves were top on the list, then settings(for some reason). But you can rejoice because the weapon grouping is right up next.

I had a feeling a re-work of some major systems would be needed for this, but it's one of those quality of life updates that gives the game a much more polished feel. Greatly appreciated and excited to see how it turns out!

HEY FOR EVERYONE DEALING WITH THE WEAPONS BUG <THEM NOT APPAEARING ON THE SCREEN> exit the game and reload it then once you do that take off all your guns and replace them and it will work

The higher levels (4+) still need balancing. For example in both playthroughs (on version 1.15) where I reached level four the enemy for every gun I had would have 2-3 for every shield I had they would have 4-8 for every thruster they'd have 3-4. in one play through i was at level four and i only had 1 shield and 2 above normal guns one of which I literally couldn't use because I didn't have enough power for it. This game is really fun and you've been very on top of patching it but when the enemy can literally destroy all my projectiles and still have enough firepower to to shave off a couple blocks or when all of my guns firing at once can't even get the shield 2/3 the way down that's a tad overpowered and takes the fun out of playing.

Found either a typo or a bug, but the basic firepower module says it allows for two additional weapons to be placed but it only allows one more.

The basic firepower module increase the weapon size you can have on your island by 2. So if you add a cannon on your island which has a weapon size of 2, means you cannot add more weapons. But yeah, there is a typo in the description. It should be weapon size instead of weapon in the sentence.

Found a small bug. When maximum shield capacity is at one, shield value is at 0, but shield graphic shows true shield value.

there's a bug where if you start it up it could get stuck on a page saying looking for updates.

Could you please make it so you can keybind the weapons so you dont have to spam every little button, or have both a duel laser and a laser, etc shoot at the same time, it would help in fighting and make fighting feel smoother, (Found out keybinds but when I entered battle it only showed the thrusters)

Right now they are busy fixing important bugs that ruin gameplay, later on they can make the game " more comfortable" to play for the audience... if you don't like pressing multiple keys don't use so many different weapons

Try restarting the game, if that does not work you have to make a new one... sorry they are fixing what they can now

There IS a patch that should fix the "Weapons not showing up on the bottom of the screen." First of all, check if you're running the latest version. If that's true, then submit a bug report, as that shouldn't be happening...

Hello. The game froze after I defeated the boss in zone 5 or 6 (I forgot) after I destroyed its warp drive. It occurs every time I beat it. Here is my setup.


Btw the boss in this area have a lot of techs and could be a bit frustrating to beat with high dodge rate and shield regeneration rate. It makes me wonder how difficult would be to defeat the next boss. Here how it looks like.  It would be nice if some weapons have unavoidable projectiles or something. Maybe buffing the laser to be unavoidable but with lower damage output would be good. And this is actually the boss that froze on me after I beat it. The third try.

Sorry for the long post. You're doing a good job with the game. It's awesome and fun!

I have figure out the bug and a fix will be int he next update. The quick fix is to make sure you are not using all 5 basic firepower modules when going up against a boss. Unfortunately, this means that you will be a weapon short, but the bug will give you an extra basic firepower module afterwards so you can have all 6 against normal enemies.

Sorry for this bug. I know how frustrating it must be to come so far only for the game to freeze. An update should be released within the next couple of hours with some much needed bug fixes and changes.

It seems that the same bug will occur against normal enemies as well but it does not occur all the time tho. I'm in the zone with the final boss I think. Just wanna let you know about that. Btw I used the same tech setup as before with one extra firepower module.

In 1.14, I am stuck behind a treasure on the map. It freezes transitioning to it each time, and it won't seem to stop, no matter how much I restart D:

Im working on fixing this bug right now, and am having troubles figuring it out. Could you please provide me with a list of how many techs(max) you have? Also what zone are you in?

I have feeling that its because you have all the techs available, but I need some evidence or else I won't know if the bug actually went away.

My owned techs (all are currently active) are as follows:

5 basic firepower units

1 advanced firepower unit

5 propulsors

2 turbochargers

1 weapon accelerator

1 ultramplifier

1 nuclearizer.

I am currently in the final zone, only a few spaces from the boss enemy of the zone.

hey i think that the bosses with 26 shields are too hard to beat without the same amount can you nerf the shields a little

Huh. I've seen basic enemies cap the possible shield count at 36. Then I've seen them with 6 grade 2 mortars, 4 machine guns, and several dual lasers all at once. On top of that, they have 4 clockwork cats so that it's practically impossible to hit them, even if you break through the shields.

okay, i know you can really work around this as a player and it really isnt a problem, but when i have one floater and it takes me 5 times to finally stop falling its really annyoing because i keep dying trying to avoid shots because the gravity kills me

Also I said something earlier about guns and number keys and by types i mean like anything that shoots a type of bullet or etc instead of that type of gun such as cannonballs being spread gun cannon quick shot like that

I'm sure you've gotten some or all of these suggestions before, but I've thought of a few things I'd really like to see in the game.

  • A softcore mode - I like the perma death style for this game. I think it really fits the theme and makes you try harder to avoid damage and play strategically. But a more "relaxed" game mode might be nice at times. I'm not much a fan of perma death games, so maybe it's just me, but after playing perma death for awhile I just get bored of starting over and whatnot
  • Farther progression - I assume you're already thinking about this one, because as of now the game feels quite short. When I reached the final boss I felt pretty under powered. Perhaps you wanted it to be this way? To Incite a feeling of challenge or fear into the player. Either way, I never got the feeling of owning a "powerful" island. I like to play games up until the point where I feel unstoppable, where I can beat pretty much anything with ease. Even if this was just in an 'after the final boss' free-play mode, I think it would be a satisfying addition. Additionally, when the player chooses a new game, perhaps they could choose between different game lengths (3 portals, 5 portals, 10 portals, etc.) with varying difficulty of final bosses. This could give players a quick game which is challenging with few resources, or a long game where they can heavily customize their island and improve its features.

Hope my suggestions give you some ideas!

Looking through your balances changes for v1.13 I would like to say I'm very happy with them and think they're all very good changes. You managed to fix the issue of feeling like you can't get enough thrust or firepower, while still holding back on the "I put every weapon on my ship and everything gets shot to death immediately." I did manage to beat the game on v1.12, but I am looking forward to playing through again after a few more updates. Once the game gets more fleshed out and polished up I would gladly pay some money to support the development!

When I shift click on a floatron (to replace blocks) It deletes the floatron instead of putting it back in my inventory. I've done this by accident a few times and it's very disheartening especially early in the game. This bug was on v1.12 so I don't know if it persists in your latest update. Thought I should let you know. I think it's a  100% reproduce rate but I can't promise that.

I found a GAME-BREAKING BUG ...The boss fight at 33875ft doesn't work...the pre-battle cloud animation freezes halfway through...also the error where the enemies just fall out of the sky also still occurs...im running v1.14 windows btw

This is an annoying bug. Sometimes, you can't fire weapons and it does not show up on screen.

When I hold down a number key while placing a gun to remap the fire button, this is what happens to me. I dont see any weapons at the bottom of the screen, and I cant shoot

I didn't know you could use buildings like that! Having them within your island seems unintended and also a little overpowered? I assumed the top of the island could only be so wide to avoid shield stacking.

I can verify that this happens in 1.14. It happened to me for the first time after a good 5 or 6 so worlds, where I was facing a boss enemy. I killed him, and it froze.

It happened the second time I tried, but this time I died and was being destroyed.

I'm also having a problem with the gaming freezing in the duels and the game kinda lags when there are lots of projectiles too I think.

I'm in 1.14 BTW.

hey i have some problems with lag it causes the game to freese when i win a battle also the mortarfull enimies are an nuicence like the enimy has 10 mortars
